Louis DesRosiers
Louis DesRosiers
Louis DesRosiers, a third generation architect, founded DesRosiers Architects in 1974. Applying knowledge gained in the field and having earned a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Lawrence Technical Institute, Louis designed and built his own 6,400 square foot residence in 1972, at the age of 28.
Louis was involved with every aspect of his first home - from driving the bulldozer for excavating the land to laying block and field stones to installing all the finish wood work. Louis was on-site everyday. In designing the house, as with all of his designs, Louis worked with three principles: It must be a shelter, it must be functional and it must be architecturally exciting. Louis is a firm believer in owning your own view. Being able to get out of bed and step out on the deck to enjoy the scenery is a very special feeling.
Louis' father, Arthur DesRosiers was a prominent local architect who created such high profile projects as St. Hugo of the Hills Church in Bloomfield Hills. Building on his rich architectural heritage, Louis established his firm as a leader in both traditional and contemporary design. -
