From the moment you open the large Rosewood door and enter the skylit, grand foyer with its awe-inspiring glass floor, you feel as though you’ve arrived at a luxury hotel. Venture further, and the Lake Angelus House reveals itself as a high-end residence with the accommodations, amenities, and recreational opportunities to marvel a four-star resort.
This is one of the most expansive houses we’ve ever done at DesRosiers Architects. In addition, it’s quite possible the most interesting home I’ve designed in my career.”
– Lou DesRosiers, Principal Architect
With a large lot on the peninsula of one of the most beautiful lakes in Michigan, the house is a luxurious retreat. A guest suite features two bedrooms and a dining area, as well as a walk-in closet, private bathroom and patio overlooking the lake. Like the master suite, it features custom woodwork with stainless steel inserts.
On the exterior, everything is designed with horizontal lines. From the front canopy with Indiana Northern Bluff limestone to the cedar fascias, glass and the cement tiles on the roof, the theme continues throughout the house. Even the spacious auto court inspires visitors and guests.
Inside, the open floorplan allows for a kitchen that opens to an expansive great room with a two-story limestone fireplace. A custom glass wine room enhances the dining room experience. The lower level features a spa, cinematic golf simulator, game room, bar area with see-through fireplace and much more. The negative edge swimming pool cantilevers over the lake, and in every way, this is a residence that beckons you back again and again.
