After recently completing the award winning Northern Trust Bank headquarters located on the northwest corner of Long Lake Road and Woodward Avenue, the phrase is once again applicable. DesRosiers Architects, celebrating 30 years of business, has taken on a project closer to home by extensively renovating their own office building.
Bloomfield Hills, MI (PRWEB) March 17, 2005
Since 1984, DesRosiers Architects has been located at 36330 Woodward Avenue, Bloomfield Hills, Michigan as a Tenant in a building that was originally constructed in 1960 specifically for the internationally renowned Knoll, Inc. to showcase their award winning office and home furniture. Knoll occupied the building for nearly twenty years until in 1979, due to necessary expansion, they relocated to the Renaissance Center in Downtown Detroit.
In June of 2002, Louis DesRosiers, owner and president of DesRosiers Architects, and son Glenn DesRosiers, a Vice President of Farmington Hills based Friedman Real Estate Group, Inc., pursued an acquisition of the property and invited the well respected building firm of Mosher, Dolan, Cataldo and Kelly, Inc. to become their equity partners. In September of 2002 the partnership successfully purchased the antiquated but renovation worthy structure and immediately commenced the multi-phase renovation process beginning with vacating all previous tenants except DesRosiers Architects. Our location is not only visible, but also historical as many people remember when Knoll occupied this building stated Louis DesRosiers. Due to the growth of our firm, expansion became necessary. The decision was made to remove the entire facade of the building replacing it with lineal brick and limestone and a modern glass curtain wall featuring horizontal mulllions. In addition we removed the complete infrastructure of the existing building. The facility is now State of the Art including a sophisticated keyless entry system, completely automated electrical and plumbing systems, halogen lighting and intricate marble, stone and wood features.
DesRosiers Architects has relocated their headquarters within the building to become the single largest tenant with signature signage on the façade of the building. With the building located on Woodward Avenue and close to downtown Birmingham, it is one of the most strategically located and desirable in Bloomfield Hills. Glenn DesRosiers stated that we spent a great amount of time, energy and money renovating this building; it was a collaborative effort that I feel reflects the meticulous standards of excellence of each partner. As a result, the building is now 100% leased with three additional long-term professional tenants including R. Bradley Lambert PLC, Custom Sales, Inc. and Windowcraft, Inc. and should ultimately prove to be a justified investment.
DesRosiers Architects is known for their extraordinary attention to detail, which they have integrated into the design of their new space. Our firm creates many unique details that set us apart from other architectural firms. Now it will be possible for our clients to see many of those differences before their project commences, says DesRosiers.
