When developing the design concept behind this residence it was desired by the clients, who are from China, that the home have a very strong Asian influence. They wanted the home to exude a sense of power from the exterior but the interior needed to be warm and inviting. They have children and grandchildren who often stay for extended periods of time, therefore the home was also designed with the entire family in mind.
The residence has a completely maintenance-free exterior made entirely of stone. The selection of Indiana limestone installed in a meticulous 2-foot high horizontal module, exudes a powerful architectural statement. This design was extremely difficult to execute as the horizontal module is present on the exterior and is also continued throughout the interior uninterrupted.
The interior is reminiscent of a contemporary art gallery which is softer and has a more tranquil ora. There are three guest suites in addition to the master suite to allow for an expanding immediate family. The lowest level of the home contains complete living quarters with full kitchen, bar, home theater and additional bathrooms. It is a expansive space and has easy access to the outdoor pool and patio overlooking the beautiful lakefront property.
